I am struggling to get paid off a few companies, using covid as an excuse and saying that they are not paying any suppliers until August??? Can they do this?

Hi Paul, if an invoice is due then legally you are entitled to ask for this from the company when it is overdue. However, given the current circumstances then you have to be a little mindful of peoples current situation. In saying that, it works both ways as you may require this money to keep your business afloat. Communication is key here and you have to spend time identifying the key issue for non-payment and their current circumstances. That was you can identify if they are having financial difficulties. If that is the case then you may have to be a little more flexible and look at a payment arrangement. If not then you are within your rights to escalate the recovery process.
